Degree show 2016

The Comprehensive Design Project forms the core of the Masters Final Year and provides the opportunity for students to explore proposals in depth. Derived from the Group Urban Design undertaken at the start of the year, each student develops a project brief which they then take from concept to detailed resolution. All Aspects of the Final Year programme become linked to and base around the individual exploration . The type of project is determined by the nature of the group urban designs and by the personal agendas of each student. They are encouraged to engage with real issues raised during the group work whilst simultaneously challenging established norms and preconceptions. A critical re-appraisal of established building types and inventive approaches to the generation of new forms is encouraged to explore ideas through the medium of design.
